The low ash oil is sae 30 and there is 1 gallon of oil in it, the oil that the mechanic suggested is 15/40 used in diesel engines like allison c-4's and volvo dvs. I am going by what the ih mechanic told us, my tractor runs good on this oil, it is an m. Hope this helps you out.
