I have a MD engine and a WD6 engine all apart in my garage. As I put one back together I'm seeing little differences. The one out of a MD has bigger counter weights on the crank and bigger rod bolts. I can't use it because it has already been ground .030 and wore out again but since it looks heavier and had the bigger rod bolts would it have been a better crank? Is this just a case of one being newer or is it because one was a MD and the other a WD6? I know the Wd6 is a 1948. Don't know what the MD was. Mulcher
