Mac,
H's were originally 6 Volt, but many have been converted to 12 Volt. Red is correct, take the generator/regulator to a shop and have them test it and repair it if necessary. It'll cost you between $40 and $100 but it will be money well spent. You can be sure that the battery will charge and your tractor will start when you need it. Phil
