I've a question relating to this - I've started my '47 H in -5 F and let it warm up for 15-20 minutes which I'd do just for the engine anyway. My hydraulics work fine - the engine rpm may drop a little more but the cylinder on my snow plow behaves - maybe a little slower initially. Am I running any risk of damage to the pump by using the 30W in these temps? I would think the only damage risk would be if one of the valves sticks - otherwise it would just be annoyingly slower. BTW - I've found the best prices for oil in larger quantities (5 gal) - hy/tran or 90W or 80W90 - can be found at Wal-Mart.
