I don't think you have a problem Tim. The diesel is not yet warmed up even with glow plugs to fully combust all of the fuel going through it, by the time it has run for a minute or two it is beginning to become efficient with the fuel and after a good warm up it exhibits no unusual smoke. I started my 584 today to blow snow at about -15* and it belches black smoke as it begins to start, when I let off on the extra fuel it smokes less, then as the cylinders warm up the smoke goes white and in a few seconds there is only the exhaust and vapour of a normal engine..my B250 does the same..nothing unusual about your diesel tractor, especially in cold weather...Mike in Exeter Ontario
