Does the tractor have a generator or has it been changed to an alternator? If alternator, would be 12 volts, if generator, look at the tag rivited on housing, Delco 6 volt generator had black back ground and 12 volt were red. this might be of some help unless the tag had been painted over. Hope this could be of some help, good luck.
