Hugh, pretty well said it all here. The only thing I could add is that those studs could be troublesome to remove. I rebuilt a 16A mower a couple of years ago, it is a nice little mower. I mow about 10 acres with it and it did a nice job. I used it on my 42 A, its a little light in the front end on steep hills so you might think about front weights. I also have a 49 Super A and I am familiar with those studs. I have the manual for that mower and would be happy to share any of that info with you.
