I just did my 46 A because I'm completely rebuilding it. This is certainly an involved job. You have to remove the radiator, governor housing and the front bolster and axle assembly. This is just so you can get to the timing gear cover so it can be removed. I had a devil of a time removing my pulley and actually broke it because I was trying to get by without purchasing the right tools. I had to buy a large OTC pulley puller and a large OTC 2-jaw puller to get the orignial pulley off since none of the stores had any for rent. The replacement pulley went on really easy because my crankshaft is threaded and I was able to use a bolt and fender washers to pull it back on. Be sure to leave the bolts on the timing gear cover loose so that the puller can seat the new seal squarely, then finishing tightening the bolts after the pulley is completely in place. Get a copy of the I&T shop manual. It has a picture of the puller set-up. I got my oil seals from the CaseIH dealer but NAPA also has them because they are made by Chicago Rawhide. You might consider getting a complete engine seal/gasket kit. They are only about $50 and contain everything you'll ever need.

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
