The cranckcase is vented through the oil fill cap, normally when there is smoke from the oil fill , It indicates that you have blowby ( combustion pressure leaking past the piston rings) this is then vented out of the crankcase by means of the oil fill. If it has been recently overhauled this condition is sometimes present until the new piston and rings seat in.
