I'm posting to thank those who helped my with my Cub charging problem--Brian and Bob M. Turned out the problem wasn't brushes. Just before I went to buy them I asked a friend for his opinion and he took me to a little starter/alternator shop. The guy said the generator was putting out much as it possibly could, and that the 51 year old brushes looked almost brand new. He cleaned the commutator and adjusted the armature. I went home, saved 10 bucks (and a big headache), and cleaned all the terminals, flipped the ammeter wires around so that it read right, and now she's charging beautifully. To all that replied with suggestions, thank you. I sure learned alot about tractor charging systems. Chris
