Brian: I plowed a good many acres of my sandy loam soil with 300 and 3x16 No.60 plow. I also had a 4x16 No. 60 I used behind my 560 diesel. The 300 worked a lot harder than the 560. I rather doubt you could pull 3 bottoms in heavy clay. I'm thinking even clay loams would cause one a lot of grief. 14" bottoms may make a difference. I used 16" as I plowed in same field together with both units. The 300 was definately at it's limit with 3x16 in that light soil. If I remember correctly advertising called H, SH, 300 and 350 first 2 plow then 2-3 plow and 3 plow. Not just sure where change happened, but H was definately 2 plow and 350 was 3 plow. I'm thinking SH and 300 were called 2-3 plow tractors.
