Four years ago my dad died and left me a 400 acre farm and two tractors which he bought new. One is a 1951 Model M Farmall and the other one is a 706 Diesel Farmall. Both are kept in a tight shed and have never been in weather. Both have large areas of bright metal showing through the original paint. The 706 has in excess of 16,000 hours and is on its 5th set of tires. Mo motor repairs were ever made. Do not know of the hours or repair of the M as it is much older than I am. I do no repairs but do all prevenative maint. "by the book" I wa swondering how many more years I can expect to use these machines. I feel that i do not really need anything bigger as I want a full time job and have it.
