Sounds like you dont have it timed right.I dont know theexact procedure on the 20 but on my 14,you set the #1 piston at TDC,then wit hthe advance all the way retarted,set the mag at number one and line up the holes on the coupler and bolt it together.I think I ended up having to move mine bac kor foward on hole due to some wear on the mag or something.
