Well i am getting ready to make air filter setup for my 460 utility since the one that was on there isn't the right one anyway...I think the K&N would be fine as long as you include a prefilter. The oil baths are messy and cumbersome to maintain..(my opion) besides alot of the pipes leading to the carb from oil baths have alot of gunk in them which means at some point they weren't doing the job (to be fair it was probably due to someone not maintaining it). Your filter should be enough to accomodated your air flow. A good judgement is to look a a car motor with similar size engine and pick a filter with similar size. I have made air filters for a number of motorcycles that I do performance work on...so a tractoer can't be any different.
