I've been told that this is an 8 volt bat, but I only had a 6 volt charger, so it was never that great. I thought about the 8v, but it starts pretty good on 6v and I like some of the advantages of gel bats (no freezing, no boiling)
So I think I'll try one of them first. If that's no good then I'll see about an 8. But this Super M really is a pup, starts real easy, no sweat.
Although we tried to pull start it with my Dakota, in a dew moistened field pulling a 6' bushhog behind the tractor we found out just how light the Dakota is. With the truck in fourwheel drive I could stop it with the tractor in any gear just by easing out the clutch.
I could also stop it with the brakes which impressed me to no end. I'd been told Farmalls had bad brakes.
