I agree with Mr. Gadget. If ya do a lot of backing and turning, hydro is the only way to go. You should be able to find a good used John Deere 316 or 318 in the price range that would do the job very well, and last forever with some TLC. I dunno if Cub Cadet makes a comparable machine or not. Onan or Kohler are good engines, newer JD's have gone to Kawasaki V-twins, and I've been very happy with mine. Honda makes a good motor too.
