I have a Farmall 200 and a 5' trail behind bushog. Most of the time I can mow in 2nd gear, once in a while I do have to drop down in to 1st if the grass is long and wet or am mowing very low. Even in 1st gear the 200 still goes at a good clip as far as ground speeds go. Give it a try and see what happens. just my 2cents.
