Your power steering pump may have lost it's prime. Do you have a TA, and does it work? The same pump supplies both. It's located on LH side of tractor, just behind clutch housing, inboard of the MCV. Is the rear end full of oil? I just went through this with a 706. Actually removed the pump, it looked too good to replace, so I reassembled it with a little petroleum jelly on the gears, then poured some oil in it just before installing on the tractor. Pump worked fine, and pressures checked out. It has been working since last spring. The tractor has not been used much, but has been run occasionally, and continues to build pressurwith no problems. Maybe someone will post with a method to prime the pump without removing it, or perhaps I should have just replaced my pump.
