I just came in from plowing 8" of snow from my driveways. The blade does not float. They have down pressure so it takes some getting used to, If you put it all the way down then you can scrape ice away but if you start to lose traction you have to lift just a little. I love to push snow with mine my driveway is blacktop and I scrape it clean
