This isn't really a comparison - I've only ever had one snow machine and that's a '47 H. So far, I'm with you, it does a great job for the money. I looked at tractors for a couple of years. Most were repaint rebuilds going for above $2000. This H was $1200 with everything working, good rubber, new alt and a recent ring job. This may be a lot for the midwest but here in CT that was one of better prices for anything that size. Another $50 got me a frame and a decent snow blade. My driveway has a grade so it helped that it was a little heavier than most of the other tractors available. My 2c.
