Williamf, I know what you are talking about. in 1955 My folks moved from Michigan to "Sunny south Fla". Along in January and Febuary, Florida decided to experience one of its coldest winters in history. It wasnt cold temperature wise anything like it ever gets here in Michigan, but it was constantly 25 to 30 degrees F. at night for over 2 weeks. (Dont you Canadians start laughing yet).....First of all, houses in So. Fla werent equiped with furnaces. Just a space heater in the hall way to take a chill off should the temps dare creep below 50 degrees. The terrazzo floors get so cold that you cant even walk around in stocking feet. YOu need to keep shoes on. We had sold all of our winter coats thinking it never gets "That cold" in Fla. That was a mistake. Also, there is a penetrating nature to a Florida chill, due to the humidity and constant seabreeze, that goes right through the body even at 40 F. Anyway, without proper clothing, and chilled to the bone to begin with I, along with most other teenagers and available bodies in the area were "conscripted" to help those who had Mango or avocado groves or tomato fields keep smudge pots and tires burning in the mornings to keep the frost off. That may have been the warmest thing going as there were burn barrels going to get warm once in a while. The Winter chill lasted long enough tho and stayed cold throughout the day long enough that burning tires and smudgepots didnt prevent everything from freezing anyway. Now folks, I've been outside this winter in Zero-F and below weather shoveling the walkways and other things, and have been warm as toast with my Carharts, Lined boots, Lined gloves, Hooded jacket etc. Maybe past experience is the reason I don't make the mad rush for Florida's sunny beaches when it gets cold here in Michigan. The coldest winter I ever spent was in Florida.

Talk of the Town: How to Remove a Broken Bolt - by Staff. Another neat discussion from the Tractor Talk Discussion Forum. The discussion started out with the following post: "I have an aluminum steering gear housing with a bolt broken off in it. The bolt is about a 3/8" x 1 1/2" bolt. I've already drilled the center of the bolt out with about 7/64" drill bit the entire length of the bolt. Only one end of the bolt is visible. I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
