I'm having a similiar problem on my BN. I heated the pipe and the manifold (carefully) with a gas tourch. Once I got the pipe cherry red, I let it sit and cool. I did this twice and the pipe unscrewed without any problem. Next I will take it to a plumbing/well shop to have the threads cleaned up with a die. They will only charge a few dollars to do it.
