Torque it rite; If you torque the head bolts dry to 90 ft-lbs that will be the real and repeatable torque on the stud. If you use a lubricant the torque will vary and be somewhat higher. As long as the head gasket don't leak or the head don't warp both methods are fine. Reminds me years ago we used to "hot" stud torque an important stud and when it cooled the torque value was calculated as equivalent to 2000 ft-lbs 8 of these fasteners had a job to do. So that 90 maybe variant to 105 ft-lbs torque on a F-20 head will last the duration.
