I don't know the touque on a farmall, but I just did a JD 2640 .I do it this way 1 Blow the hole in the block out 2 run a tap in to clean the threads 3 Blow it out again and again 4 Run a die down the bolt threads and clean off the threads 5 put the gasket on, then the head, and put the bolts in dry and tighten them to specs ON THE CRANK END OF THE RODS JD SAYS OIL THE THREADS THAT HOLD THE CAP ON BEFORE PUTTING THEM IN No mention of oiling head bolts and I never have,
