low oilpresure

how hard is it to replace the rod bearings on a cub. after about 15minets of hard running i have less than 5psi at idle and 10psi full thotle no load. i am running 40wt catrol oil. the tractor has 30-40psi cold at idle 20degree wheather.i replaced the head gasket this past summer, can i replace the bearings with out removing the head,hood etc.
