Leaking oil around brakes on an H

What is the best way to fix leaking seals around the bull pinion shaft? I was going to put new seals in but there is noticable play in the bearing up and down and side to side. Should I replace the bearings or would doubling the new seals do the trick? Anyone out there had this problem? This is a show tractor that won't be used for work and both sides are this way. Thanks for the advice, Andy
