Hello Allan, I also understand completely. I don’t have any place to work my tractors, just drive em around town. I have a ’45 H and a ’37 F-20. I have a lot of fond memories of driving the H. I also have a Case Model C. I bought it from a young fellow in Wisconsin (about 350 miles from me) site unseen other than the pictures that he emailed. I told him I would pay his asking price if he would deliver it to me! I tell you when he arrived and cranked that little tractor over and it started up, immediately I remembered that’s the sound!! I had not heard that sound for close to 50 years. I had no idea that the sound of the engine would affect me in this way! Was really Great, and still is but, just not quite as thrilling as when I first heard it run on that day! :-) Seems like a lot of us have memories of driving these old tractors when we were in our pre-teen years. Was work and fun back then, but now it’s just fun! My wife thinks I’m nuts! Dave Olson – East-Central Illinois

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
