The only problem ive had with my M the shifter not droping one gear before it picks up another or not brining one clear back to neutral before it picks up another. It usually happens in the first and reverse slot, but that doesnt even happen often. Out side of that the tranny seems to be sound. The only other thing that kinda bothers me is when i pull an old John Deere subsoiler (25-30" deep)the transmission starts to really howl almost scream. I'm mostly a "Green kinda" guy but this tractor was my grandpas and i have to admit its a pretty good tractor. Grandpa used to Buck hay with it in road gear and do other loader work and some feild work with it. It wont pass my JD 60 or the G with the subsoiler but is sure keeps up nicely. and anything thatll keep up with those them is ok in my book
