I had one that quit at 7100 hours and found a place that fixes them but they quoted me quite a bit. I opted to just leave it in and got on ebay and found a electric hour meter. The guy told me when they quit on the 100 or 1000 and the RPM's still work it is a gear that has to be replaced but he wanted like $65 plus freight and was in Kansas.
