I agree strongly. If that engine always had non-det. and you switch it to det. you will get a lot of sludge floating around. I have seen a filter plugged in no time with s#$%. A buddy bought an old H at a sale and changed the oil to 15w40 (same as his diesle tractors),this stuff has extra cleaning capacity,he got himself into lots of trouble. My local dealer promotes low ash single grade for the old girls and after a major o/h a straight grade detergent. He doesn't agree with my use of multigrade, but I use multi. in the tractors that run in the winter with fresh engins.
