The Zenith carb will have "Zenith Made in USA" stamped on the bottom (underneath) the float chamber. It is cast iron and feels very heavy if you have it off the tractor. The Carter is made of an alloy and is lighter feeling. I don't recall exactly what is written on it. On the Zenith the idle mixture adjustment screw goes in at a 45 degree angle where the Carter's screw sets at 90 degrees.
