Yup, I used the casting codes, and then double checked in the YT Tractor registry. 1951 is the year. As I remember, the casting codes go "month * day * year," with a letter code for the year. I believe 1951 was "U." Add or subtract letters to get to your letter code. I hadn't thought about the blank serial number tag. That would be the most honest thing to do. It would be a recognition that the original was lost, and yet would be part of a restoration. Great idea.
