hard starting 806

I have a IH 806 and it has about 6500 hours on it and its hard starting.Now ive heard nothing but good things about the 806 and from its performace for me its all true.But it is hard starting i mean a can of either is its jolt to life unless its at least 80 degrees out but i put a new injector pump on it cause the old one was leaking out the cross over but it still staarts the same im sure it needs the valves run on it and a good tune up done but i talked to some one and they said theve had the same problem and they tried everything and finaly they talked to a old IH mechanic and he said they had a problen with the vaalves over time wearing into the head and the guy said they would just slowly lose compression.And the guy i taalked to said that after having the head over hauled and everything set back to spec that the tractor would start everytime temp didnt seem to mater.
