I had a bearing out in my B transmission and it seemed to run quietly. When I was restoring it I took the whole transmission apart to change the oil slinger gear and that is when I discovered this bearing out. The bearing was the one on the axle shaft on the left side of the differential. I think the reason it didn't damage the ring gear is because this shaft that goes out to the final drive supported the differential from the far end. So even though the bearing balls where all in the bottom of the transmission, it still worked OK. This may be the bearing that is out on your B. Roger
