I'm married too but that hasn't been a mistake for the last 42 years. Otherwise I am in agreement with you. To charge a battery, seems to me that designers set the regulator so that the battery gets about 20% more voltage than it's rating and this extra voltage is what pushes currrent into it at some reasonable rate. If the regl was set to exact batt volts, it would take an infinitely long time to achieve full charge. So a regulator for a 6 v system is set to 7.2 volts as is a 12v set to 14. Then the current part of the regulator is set to some reasonable current 20 to 40 amps max depending on voltage of system and away we go. Granted, the generator could go nuts and supply lots of V's and A's but that is not what you want if you want the system to survive. Soooooooooooo how ya gonna cram current into an 8 volt battery with an energy source set to a max of 7.2 volts? Mark

Talk of the Town: How to Remove a Broken Bolt - by Staff. Another neat discussion from the Tractor Talk Discussion Forum. The discussion started out with the following post: "I have an aluminum steering gear housing with a bolt broken off in it. The bolt is about a 3/8" x 1 1/2" bolt. I've already drilled the center of the bolt out with about 7/64" drill bit the entire length of the bolt. Only one end of the bolt is visible. I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
