Hi Brian, I am a owner of a 460 Gas - so the diesel question I will leave to the Diesel guy's. I can answer the PTO question. First we need to identify which one of three different PTO assemblies you might have. Does it have a BIG CAP on the left top side of the PTO housing? Does it have a two inch cap on the right side? or does it just have a breather cap and no adjustment cap. The old Farmall 300 PTO will fit on the 460 - that unit is a band unit. The 460 came out originally with a PTO unit that had to be taken off the tractor to adjust the stop clutch. Then they corrected there mistake and put a big CAP on top to put a curved adjustment tool down inside... Not an easy adjustment. I have one of each. My suggestion is to find an old 300 unit and put it on the tractor. The band style seems to be easier to work on and more reliable. Let me know.
