I have 10 Cubs. The rear tires vary in size from 7.00x24 to 9.5x24, but are mostly 8.3x24. The size makes a little difference in speed, but not much. The diameters are from 34" to 39". Reducing from the largest to the smallest would be a speed reduction of less than 12%. There are aftermarket attachments to reduce the speed that are no longer made and are VERY expensive.
