Thanks again to everyone who responded to my earlier questions. My A appears to be a 1939 model, which makes me happy! For some reason I love the very early ones. What are the "J" type things I see hanging down from the upper engine cover sheet metal in a lot of photos? Mine doesn't have them. It has Dzus type fasteners, although those on the grille and the upper cowl don't match up. There doesn't appear to be anything for them to fit into except one arm underneath near the radiator. The back end of the upper part is hard against the fuel tank, but there's a good 3/4" gap between it and the grille part. Any ideas why that would be?? Tks! Butch
