I just fixed the same problem you are describing today. My Dad's M was doing the same thing, so I replaced the cap & rotor (rotor was total junk), and also replaces the Champion D18Y plugs with AC C87 plugs. After doing this the tractor runs like a top. Now to get the PTO rebuilt, and rewire the Cub....
