MJD: I was able to give you what answer I gave, as I have the plow parts book covering the 620. That book is number PO-9 and covers at least 33 plow models. I say at least 33 as I feel there were more plows in this book at one time. The book is a three ring bound type whereby sections can be added or deleted. It seems to cover plows built primarily in the 1960s, however the SA plow models 189 and 193 are in there as well. A plow that is obviously not there is the model 510 introduced in the late 60s or early 70s. This book also has 2 sections on I-F11 101 and the 210 plow with no text.

Further to this I went to a site the other day called Iron Solutions. This site has over 48,000 items of used equipment listed for sale across North America. I typed in IH model 510 plows. There were about a dozen IH 510 plows listed for sale and everyone of them were in Kansas in US or the Maritime Provinces of Canada. Could it be that those two general areas are the only places IH ever sold the 510 plow? I also checked the model 710 built in same era and close to same sizes as it relates to number of bottoms. There were at least 3 doz 710 plows and none of them were in Kansas or the Maritimes. My plow book came from Nebraska. Could it be that these plow books were custom made for each dealer, depending on what was sold in his area?

Another factor about this book I have is it only covers plow frames, hitches, gauge wheels, etc. Basically everything but moldboards. It states inside the cover moldboards are covered in another book. Question is how many other books? I see another factor in play as well, inside the front cover of my book is a note to dealer," As soon as You receive your parts book PO-9, it supersedes PO-7 and PO-7 should be destroyed immediately." How many of those are still floating around? Maybe another book has superseded book PO-9 by now?

I think if you are buying plow books the possibility of custom made books, people removing sections from these books and superseded books, you best check to see if your plow is in there. There are also parts manuals floating around for specific models and that may be a better buy for the plow buyer.
