It is very important to have good battery cables, especially if it is 6 volts. The cables on my C looked ok at first glance but upon closer inspection they were corroded pretty bad. You want good quality heavy duty cables in the range of 0 to 2 guage. Also you need to make sure that the ground cable is grounded good. I took a little disk grinder and polished a spot on the transmission flange. The 6 volt battery spins it over like a top now.
