First, make sure your fuel mixture is rich enough; warm the engine, run @ WOT and adjust the mixture screw in & out to find the "sweet spot" and then give about 1-2 additional turns for power (cooler running also). It makes no difference whether you are using ethanol or not. In fact it burns COOLER than straight gas. You have to be sure the mixture is correct for any fuel mixture. Besides you do not have ay water issues with ethanol since it is absorbed in the ethanol and burned. I have used 10% ethanol mixes for 20+ years in ALL my equipment here in Minnesota; snomobiles, garden equipment, tractors, car, truck, etc. and never have had any problems associated with it. If my memory serves, my father's 400 manual said to open the mixture screw 4 turns for hard pulling tasks! Why do racers use alcohol fuels in their engines?? To keep them cooler!!
