So that's how that works! I've made conversions using the light and never considered that possibility. I was under the impression the alternator somehow opened the circuit internally. I should have checked it with a voltmeter. BTW this is SOOO much better than the switch to excite the alternator. I've seen this done on several tractors and the extra step just to keep the battery up is a hassle when there are several drivers. Theman
