I would not be concerned about the engine rebuild if it was done properly. My brother's 684 broke a piston ring when it was still under waranty and it now has 7000 hrs on it without problem. I would be more concerned about the parking brake. Sometimes it is only the cable that brakes or requires adjustment. But a few years ago I was at IH dealer and chatting to mechanic and he was busy cleaning out the hydraulic system and transmisson/differential on a 674 that someone had operated with the parking brake on. I believe the parking brake band can be changed by removing seat and fuel tanks and top off the differential were the hydraulic oil filler plug is. Bernard le Mecano can properly tell you in more detial and he knows these tractors very well. JB
