congradulations Bill, a super c is a nice rig. The answer to your #2 question is , no, you can't take that check valve out. If you do the hitch will be laying on the floor or close to it every morning when you go out to the shed. That's probably a safety issue too with a heavy load on the hitch. I think most of them worked as you described in question #1. I drilled out two of the holes in that check valve and it works good up & dwn and the hitch won't creep down a bit. As for #3, do you have a leveling link on the left side from touch control arm under clutch pedal and back to left side of hitch above & behind left axle? It's a flat crooked bar about an inch and a half tall and maybe 3/4" thick. happy super c ing. Jim
