Engine serial number and tractor serial number

I am working on my dad's 1962 cub. We still use the little tractor for our garden work, however, the fan has frozen up and will not turn. Where do I find the engine serial number or can I use the tractor serial number to order the part I found on Yesterday's tractor web page? Can I also buy a generator brace and a water neck (which connects to the block for the generator brace) also. I would like to repair it all at one time if I can. Any help will be appreciated.
