Jed, Think you're safe by just draining the read-end and don't forget the small drain plug on the bottom of tranny housing. I just drained my M and used 85W-140 (13 gal)..Bought it through QLube (16 Gal drum) was $65.00. Recmd at some point of straining the old lube through cheeze-cloth or else run a magnet around in the bottom of the catch pails to see if you fish out any metal pieces. I had lost the keeper and a ball out of one of my bull pinion bearings on my M.
