Today I removed the regulator block and everything looked good. The screen was crushed a little but not bad. No sludge or dirt. The pistons and bores looked ok. some score marks. I replaced the O ring on regulator valve piston. No change. At 900 rpms the engine drops to 700 rpms if I don't have the lever back sending fluid around the loop of hose plugged into the remotes. At 1700 rpm it will drop about 200 rpms but then the governor picks it back up to about 1600 rpms. My loop hose is only 3/8" so there is some noise even with the lever back. especially at the higher rpms. So what is next? Replace the entire valve body? The single to dual switch-over roll pins are moving to their stops just fine.
