Whoever told you 80 weight is very misinformed, and that is a much more polite word than I wanted to use. The owners manual specifically states 30 weight, non-detergent. 20 weight for cold weather, and even 10 weight for extreme cold weather. Many, many people have found through experience that hy-tran oil works just fine in these old tractors.
