Make sure the comparison is equal. The cheaper kit may be just pistons/sleeves/gaskets/bearings, while the other kit may also include the valve train set (valves/guides/springs/keepers/seals). Not saying it's a good deal, just compare apples to apples. General Notes: The comment on reconditioning the rods is good, so make sure you get the pin bushings with your OH set. Pull a sleeve and measure the bottom OD at the O-ring seal to make sure which sleeve set you need (3 5/16" for the original C motor, possible 3 7/16" on a replacement block from a Super C). Mill the bottom plate on the oil pump flat. Make sure you keep all the main and rod bearing caps in the right place, they don't interchange. Stan(VA).
